Hair Loss Leaves Clues. We Investigate the Patterns.

Houston help for hair loss, thinning hair, shedding, bald spots and alopecia. We begin with an advanced scalp evaluation — magnified imaging and a structured history — then build a personalized hair restoration program around what we actually find. That approach is what we call Investigative Trichology™: look first, plan second.

Can We Help With Your Hair Loss?

If your hair is thinning, shedding or not growing back, yes — start with an evaluation.

You do not need a diagnosis, a referral, or the right vocabulary to book. Most people arrive with one sentence: something has changed.

Thinning hair & widening part

Gradual thinning at the crown, temples or part line — often called female or male pattern hair loss.

Excessive shedding

Hair in the brush, shower or on the pillow after stress, illness, childbirth or a major change.

Bald spots & patchy loss

Round or irregular patches, including alopecia areata and traction alopecia along the hairline.

Scalp symptoms

Itching, flaking, tenderness, oiliness or irritation that keeps returning despite products.

Breakage & slow growth

Hair that snaps, thins at the ends, or never seems to gain length no matter the routine.

Nothing has worked so far

Shampoos, serums, vitamins and treatments tried without lasting results — usually a sign the cause was never identified.

Which Concern Fits You?

Tell us what you're noticing. We'll show you where to begin.

One tap. No form, no email — just a plain-English explanation of what that usually means and the consultation that fits it.

Choose the description closest to what you are noticing. We will show you what that usually means and where to begin — no form, no email required.

Your First Visit

What to expect at your first visit

A hair investigation is a consultation, not a sales appointment. Here is exactly what happens when you come in.

  • Comprehensive health and hair history reviewWe talk through your hair loss, thinning or shedding — when it started, what changed, and what you have already tried.
  • High-resolution scalp and follicle imagingWe look at your scalp and follicles close up, on screen, so you can see what we see instead of taking our word for it.
  • Discussion of possible contributing factorsStress, styling, nutrition, hormones and family history are all reviewed as possible contributors to what you're noticing.
  • A personalized investigation planYour next steps, written out — what we would look at first and why. This is the “We Don't Guess. We Test.™” part.
  • Recommendations based on your findingsNon-medical, wellness-based recommendations shaped by what your own results show — not a one-size-fits-all package.
  • Time for questions and next stepsYou leave knowing what is happening, what we recommend, and exactly what happens next. No pressure to decide on the spot.

Our Standard

We don’t guess.We test.™

Hair loss is not the investigation. It is the clue that begins it. Magnified scalp imaging, structured history and documented findings come before any plan is written.

How An Investigation Unfolds

Six moments, from the first clue to measured progress.

You should be able to see how we work before you read a word about it.

Meet The Hair Loss Detective™

Dr. Leola Anifowoshe-Brown, PhD

Trichologist. Educator. Founder. Dr. Leola built this practice around a single conviction: hair and scalp changes are patterns worth investigating, not problems to be covered.

That conviction became Investigative Trichology™ — a structured way of listening, evaluating and personalizing that shapes every appointment in our Houston clinic.

Who We Help

Most patients recognize themselves long before anyone gives it a name.

Men

Patterned thinning, receding hairlines, and a desire to understand before acting.

Teens

Early changes that deserve a calm, careful and age-appropriate evaluation.

Postpartum Mothers

Shedding after childbirth, and the reassurance of understanding what is happening and why.

Autoimmune-Related Concerns

Hair and scalp changes alongside other health considerations, coordinated with your providers.

Protective Style Wearers

Tension-related changes along the hairline, temples and nape — and how to protect what remains.

Mature Adults

Density, texture and scalp comfort changes that come with time.

Those in Recovery

Regrowth after significant medical treatment, supported gently and patiently.

The Investigation Journey

Five stages, one continuous partnership.

  1. 1

    Discover

We listen first. Your history, your timeline, and the changes you have noticed shape everything that follows.

  2. 2

    Investigate

Structured scalp evaluation, microscopic investigation and wellness review help us identify patterns and possible contributors.

  3. 3

    Personalize

Findings become a restoration pathway designed for your hair, your scalp and your life.

  4. 4

    Restore

Signature in-clinic programs and considered home care work together over time.

  5. 5

    Maintain

Progress is reviewed, refined and protected through an ongoing partnership.

Why We're Different

Most hair loss care starts with a product. Ours starts with a look.

Investigative Trichology™ simply means we examine your scalp and hair under magnification and review your history before recommending anything. This is a description of our philosophy, not a criticism of anyone else's — ours just begins earlier.

Treatment-First Approach

  • Begins with the visible concern
  • Standardized recommendations
  • Product or treatment first
  • Short-term focus

Investigation-First Approach

  • Begins by exploring the broader picture
  • Personalized investigative pathway
  • Understanding first
  • Long-term partnership

The Texas Hair Restoration Difference™

Six commitments that shape every appointment.

Investigative Trichology™

We begin by looking for patterns and possible contributors rather than reacting to the visible concern alone.

Personalized Care

Every investigative pathway and restoration plan is built around one person's history, hair and goals.

Signature Systems & Technologies

Our signature systems — including ResusciStation™ — support a consistent, structured standard of care.

Whole-Person Wellness

Hair and scalp changes rarely exist in isolation. We consider the broader picture alongside the scalp itself.

Education & Empowerment

You should understand what we observe and why it matters. Clarity is part of the care.

Long-Term Partnership

Restoration is a relationship measured in seasons, not appointments. We stay with you.

Home of ResusciStation™

ResusciStation™

Our proprietary restoration system.

Created inside our own practice, for our own patients. It exists because restoration deserves the same structure, calm and consistency we bring to the investigation itself.

Why Are We Different?

Evaluate first. Document everything. Then recommend.

Here is the process itself, what your appointment includes, and the standards behind everything we publish.

01

Structured history

Your timeline, health context, styling history and what you have already tried — written down, not recalled from memory.

02

Magnified scalp evaluation

Your scalp and hair examined under magnification and documented with photography. You see the screen while we look.

03

Findings explained in plain English

We describe the patterns we observed, what they may be associated with, and what remains uncertain — before anything is recommended.

04

A personalized program, then measurement

Your hair restoration plan is built around the findings, and progress is compared with standardized photography at set intervals.

What to expect

  • An unhurried appointment — evaluation is the appointment, not an add-on.
  • No diagnosis and no promises of a specific outcome; trichology is a non-medical field.
  • Published consultation pricing, with no obligation to purchase a program.
  • Coordination with your physician when findings suggest medical care is appropriate.

Frequently Asked

Can you help my hair loss?

The questions people ask before booking a hair loss, thinning hair or scalp evaluation in Houston.

Can you help with my hair loss?

Most likely, yes. We work with thinning hair, excessive shedding, bald spots, patchy loss, alopecia, breakage and recurring scalp symptoms such as itching or flaking. The first step is an evaluation of your scalp and hair under magnification so recommendations are based on what is actually there.

Do I need to know what type of hair loss I have first?

No. You do not need a diagnosis, a referral or the right vocabulary to book. Most people arrive with one sentence — something has changed. Identifying the pattern is our job, not yours.

What happens at a hair loss evaluation in Houston?

We review your history and timeline, examine your scalp and hair under magnification, document what we find with photography, and explain it to you in plain English. You leave with a personalized hair restoration pathway and clear next steps.

I've already tried shampoos, serums and vitamins. Is this different?

Yes, because we start earlier. When products have not held, it usually means the contributing factors were never identified. We evaluate first, then build a program around the findings rather than around a product.

Are you a doctor or a medical hair loss clinic?

We are trichologists — specialists in hair and scalp science. Trichology is a non-medical field: we evaluate, investigate and support hair and scalp wellness, and we coordinate with your healthcare providers when medical care is appropriate.

Do you work with all hair types and textures?

Yes. Our evaluations and restoration programs are designed for the full range of hair textures and types, including traction alopecia along the hairline and postpartum or stress-related shedding.

How long before I see a change?

Hair grows slowly, so meaningful change is measured in months rather than weeks. Most restoration pathways are reviewed at regular intervals across the first year, with photography used to compare progress rather than memory.

How much does it cost and do you take insurance?

Our services are not billed through insurance. Consultation pricing is published openly, and financing is available through PatientFi and CareCredit.

Frequently Asked

Why are you different?

What investigation-first care actually changes about your appointment.

What makes your hair loss clinic different?

We investigate before we recommend. Most hair loss care begins with a product; ours begins with a look at your scalp and hair under magnification, plus a structured review of your history. Nothing is recommended until we have something documented to base it on.

What is Investigative Trichology™, in plain English?

Investigative Trichology™ is our systematic approach to understanding the factors that may contribute to hair and scalp concerns — evaluate first, explain the findings, then personalize the program. It is a way of working, not a treatment you buy.

What does "We Don't Guess. We Test.™" actually mean for my visit?

It means your appointment starts with observation rather than assumption. Magnified scalp imaging, a structured history and documented findings come before any plan is written — and you see what we see while we are looking.
