Choosing a Clinic

What Does a Trichologist Do?

What a trichologist looks at, how that differs from a physician, and when to see one in Houston.

By Dr. Leola Anifowoshe Brown ·

A specialist in hair and scalp

Trichology is the study of hair and scalp. A Trichologist looks closely at shedding, breakage, density, scalp condition and strand quality, and connects those observations to your history, habits and styling.

How it fits with your physician

Trichologists do not diagnose disease or prescribe medication. When your pattern suggests something medical, we say so and encourage you to involve your physician. Many clients bring lab work their doctor has already ordered so we can see the bigger picture.

Seeing a trichologist in Houston

Our Northwest Houston clinic offers an In-Person Hair & Scalp Consultation, a Virtual Hair & Scalp Consultation, and the Deluxe Microscopic Hair & Cellular Investigation™ for clients who want the most detailed look.
